Une allée dans l’interieur de la Concession

On the 7th of june 1907 a postcard sent from Vietry in Tonkin arrived in Sidi Bel Abbes (ORAN).
The “Adresse” was Monsieur Henri HABTER mt 15226 10em Cie 1er Régiment Etranger Bel Abbes (Algerie).
From the address, that are the “numero matricule” and the indicated unit, it is clear that Henri HABTER served in the French Foreign Legion.
It is unclear why the sender did not address him with his rank or as a soldier or legionnaire.
It might have been an oversight or a personal choice by the sender
When the postcard arrived in Sidi Bel Abbes, Henri HABTER was no longer stationed there.
For that reason Bel Abbes was stricked though and changed in Marnia, a city in Algerie from which is know that units from the French Foreign Legion were stationed there every now and then.
Whether the sender was also serving in the French Foreign Legion cannot be derived from this document.
Also whether the soldiers depicted on this postcard, as par the caption located in Hue in Annam, are members of the French Foreign Legion remains currently unanswered. It could also be soldiers of the Infanterie Colonial.
