Introduction December 2023 I found in a photo album from a french officer, most likely from the Tirailleurs algériens, a number of interesting photographs of the French Foreign Legion.The officer had provided most of the photographs with captions which often include dates.As such we know the photographs were taken between the 1st of March 1901
