Officier Commandant un Train Blindé depuis plusieurs mois qui ‘sest distingué en maintes circonstances contre les éléments rebelles par son activité, sa compétence et son mépris du danger.
Vient à nouveau de se distinguer au cours des opérations de sauvetage et de reconstruction de réseau gravement endommage par le typhon du 20 Octobre 1952. Circulant de jour comme de nuit, a assuré la protection dela ligne, procédant au transport de matériaux parcourant plus de 4.000 kilomètres pour permettre d’alimenter les chantiers.
A été un artisan efficace de la remise en état de la voie permettant ainsi une reprise du traffic dans un temps record.

Toujours sur la biêche et payant constamment de sa personne, a obtenu la maximum de résultats au cours des missions qui lui ont été confises -. S’est particulirement distingué le 10-5-52 á MA-LAM (C.V.N.) on appuyant de ses feux éfficaces, un Cie de tirailleurs complètement encerclés, et lui permettant de se dégager.
S’est également fait remarquer le 10-12-52 á P.K. 1538 ) Proximité de MA-LAM CVN) ou il fit á partie une élement adverse, lui causant des pertes sensibles”

Train blindé du 2e Régiment Etranger d’Infanterie
The armoured train was constructed in the genie workshops at Nah Trang in November 1948.
La Rafale, as she would come to be known, was one of two armoured trains solely under the command of the 2e REI.
The train consisted of two locomotives, an infirmary wagon, one command wagon, two engineer and equipment wagons, and eight armoured wagons with steel plates, one of which was mounted with a turret gun.
At the head of the train were two pilot cars, which were used to detonate mines placed on the tracks.
La Rafale was crewed by 100 men, officers, NCOs, and legionnaires from the regimental company of the 2e REI.
It was heavily armed with eight Reible twin-mounted machineguns, a 40mm turreted bofors gun, and one 20mm flak cannon.
The train also possessed multiple grenade launchers in addition to two 81-mm and two 60-mm mortars. La Rafale operated solely in Southern Annam, protecting the trans-Indochinese line and civilian and military convoys until July 1954.
April 29, 1949, was the first time the train came under any form of sustained attack by the Viet Minh, and the enemy was repulsed easily enough.
Nevertheless, La Rafale remained a constant target, with the enemy constantly sabotaging the railway line. In July 1954, she was handed over to the Vietnamese National Army.
A special badge was created for this unit in 1948 by Capitaine Raphanaud and made by Drago Paris, 43 Rue Olivier Metra.
Silver examples were issued to officers.
